The most relevant is, without a doubt, that of the actor Rodolfo Sanchothat since his son was arrested and has maintained absolute silence. Furthermore, he has been away from public opinion, he has not been seen at events related to his profession and there have only been images of him when he went to Thailand to visit his son.

Over four episodes, The Sancho case It will offer the public access to the development of the investigation, from the moment of the young Spaniard’s arrest last summer and until the Thai Justice issues a sentence after the trial that begins this April 9.

It will be the first of the four installments that make up this new documentary series. The rest will arrive on the platform in 2024, after the judicial resolution of the case.

Rodolfo Sancho breaks his silence in an interview for HBO Max

Before beginning this journey through almost eight months of research, The Sancho case places the audience in the present and travel to the island of Fuerteventuraplace where Rodolfo Sancho resides, to know first-hand how the actor is experiencing everything that has happened since August 5, 2023 when his son’s alleged involvement in the death of Edwin Arrieta became known.

What makes this documentary different is that it is being produced in real time. Starting from the moment of Daniel Sancho’s arrest by the Thai authorities on August 5, 2023, the series presents a journey, both physical and psychological, full of jumps in time and unknowns to be solved. Through the testimony of the closest environment of the victim and the accused of murder, as well as of people involved in the investigation, this documentary series analyzes in present time each evidence, each proven fact, each testimony and each scenario to reconstruct a case about which still raises many questions.

The “most media” case of recent times

The documentary “delves into a topical issue both in Spain and internationally,” explains Alberto Carullo, responsible for the original content of Max – the new platform that will transform HBO Max – for Spain, Italy and Portugal. “The Sancho case will address one of the most media in recent times from the maximum journalistic rigor and offering unprecedented access to the people closest to the investigation,” he adds. “Our objective is to document the entire process, from when the facts were known to the sentencing, taking into account the tremendous pain that this event has caused in so many people,” says Margarita Luis, executive producer of Cuarzo and director of the documentary.
