MADRID, 13 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish diver Carlos Gimeno started somewhat away from the best in the High Diving modality of the Swimming World Championships being held in Doha after finishing in sixth position after the first two rounds.
The Canarian arrived at this world event encouraged after his meritorious bronze medal in the last event of the World Series of this discipline held in Auckland (New Zealand), but he will have to improve in his next two jumps, on Wednesday and Thursday, to try to get closer to the fight for the medals.
The Gran Canarian, who finished sixth last summer in the World Championships held in Fukuoka (Japan), started his competition very well, with a good first jump that placed him in provisional third place, but in the second he was not so good and dropped to sixth position with a total of 175 points, although not too far from third, held by the Romanian Catalin-Petru Preda with 180.70. In fact, in Auckland he finished third after coming back from second to last place.
