A judge says Patrick Mahomes’ dad can go to Las Vegas for the Super Bowl.

A judge said Monday that Patrick Mahomes Sr. can still travel to feed Super Bowl LVIII, even though he was arrested in Texas over a weekend on a DWI charge.

In Smith County, Texas, Mahomes’ case was heard by Judge James Meredith. For TMZ Sports, he said the elder Mahomes was still able to get to the game on Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, Mahomes is said to be forbidden from drinking alcohol or using illegal drugs. He also has a stop device on his car and will have to go through random drug tests.

Online records show that Mahomes was arrested in Texas on Saturday for driving while drunk three or more times. He was let go on a $10,000 bond.

For the second time in 2018, he was arrested for driving while drunk. The judge told him to go to jail for 40 days after he admitted guilt.

In 2014, he had been charged with having an open container for an alcoholic drink in his car, but he only had to pay a fine.

Patrick Mahomes Sr., Patrick’s dad, may still go to the Super Bowl for his son, even though he was caught with a DUI over the weekend.

They will play the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl on February 11. Patrick Mahomes will lead the Kansas City Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested on February 3 and charged with a DWI third or more with the Tyler Police Department to Texas. This puts the Mahomes family in the spotlight before the game, which is not good for them.

After Mahomes Sr. was arrested for DWI on Sunday, Judge James Meredith took over the case to Smith County, Texas.

He told us that as part of the elder Mahomes’ bond conditions, he wasn’t told he couldn’t travel. For him, this means he can go to Las Vegas to watch his child play in Super Bowl LVIII.

It’s not clear if the Chiefs star will allow him there now that there are more things to think about before the Big Game, but Mahomes Sr. will be able to leave the state for it, at least in terms of the law.

Officials from law enforcement say Mahomes Sr. is not allowed to have alcohol or illegal drugs or use them. On top of that, he has to put an interlock device on his car and be tested randomly.

An official with the Tyler Police Department said that Mahomes Sr. was first stopped by police on Monday morning at around 8:30 PM for a routine traffic stop. However, “evidence obtained throughout the stop led him to be arrested arrest.”

Records show that Mahomes Sr. driving with a 16-ounce Coors beer that was open in the center console. He told police that he “had a few beers whilst watching a game that a local bar.”

The police officer who arrested Mahomes Sr. said, “Given all the facts, I believed Patrick [Mahomes Sr.] was impaired to a noticeable perceptible degree whereas operating a motor vehicle in a public place.”

Being able to travel is a good thing that the judge did, showing compassion during a tough time to the Mahomes family.

According to TMZ, however, Patrick Mahomes is still not sure if he wants his father to be at the Super Bowl after the recent troubling event.

This is the third time that Mahomes’ father has been charged with DWI, which is a very serious crime in Texas with harsh punishments for those who commit it.

The Chiefs while the 49ers will play in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11, at 6:30 p.m. E.T. The game will be shown on CBS.
