MADRID, 27 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
FC Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde will undergo surgery to resolve his injury to the hamstring tendon in his right thigh, the Barça club reported this Saturday, meaning he will miss the remainder of the season.
“After carrying out the relevant tests, they have shown that the first team player Alejandro Balde suffers an injury to the hamstring tendon of his right thigh,” the Catalan entity announced in a statement.
Furthermore, the club reported that in the coming days he will undergo “surgical treatment” by Dr. Lasse Lempainen, under the supervision of the FC Barcelona medical services, in Turku (Finland). “At the end of the intervention, a new medical report will be provided,” he said.
The 20-year-old Barcelona full-back was injured in the Copa del Rey quarterfinal match against Athletic Club in San Mamés, in which Xavi Hernández's team ended up eliminated (4-2). The culé player, who was playing his fifth game in a row as a starter, had to be replaced in the 22nd minute by Héctor Fort.
