A Ranking of Every Possible 16 Super Bowl LVIII Matchups

The NFL is down to eight teams after the elimination of twenty-four. Seven football games remain before the divisional round, and each storyline that we have eagerly anticipated will culminate in one of sixteen potential Super Bowl matchups.

As I have done in prior years, I shall assign a ranking to each of them according to my assessment of the quality of the matchup.

However, bear in mind that this is the Super Bowl. The discourse extends beyond the actual game played on the field and encompasses the excessive pomp and circumstance that transforms it into the sporting equivalent of those ever-more-absurd cruise ships.

It is a combination of science and art with an abundance of vibes. Considerations have been given to the faces that will adorn the billboards throughout Las Vegas and the names that would appear on the outside of the jerseys.

When considering the 2023 season, I considered past confrontations between teams and individuals, prominent characters, and storylines.

I also considered which games would provide gratifying resolutions to the overarching narrative and which perspectives would prove the least taxing to endure for two consecutive weeks.

Although Super Bowl 58 is approaching in Las Vegas in less than a month, now is the ideal time to begin placing bets on particular matchups in the championship game… That is, assuming you do not hold a favorable opinion of any of the remaining fourteen teams contending for the championship.

Last week, fourteen teams advanced to the NFL postseason; in the wild-card round, six were eliminated. Following a first-round replete with unexpected outcomes, the most recent odds for the NFL’s Super Bowl 58 champion have been released after the divisional round brackets have been determined.

The San Francisco 49ers as well as Baltimore Ravens, who each hold the top seed in their various conferences, are, not surprisingly, in first place.

Nevertheless, there is a marginal discrepancy in the standings of the remaining six squads about their seeding.

The Super Bowl favorites are the San Francisco 49ers. In Week 12, Kyle Shanahan’s squad defeated the Seahawks, thereby terminating Philadelphia’s one-week reign as favorites and elevating them to the position of favorites.

They truly separated themselves from the pack in Week 13, when they humiliated the Eagles in Philadelphia.

The 49ers have maintained their position as favorites to win the Super Bowl despite suffering a loss to the Ravens on Christmas night.

The Kansas Chiefs were the heavy favorites for Super Bowl 58 at the beginning of the season. However, after Week 1, the San Francisco 49ers assumed the favorite status.

In contrast, the Chiefs regained the advantage as favorites in Week 7 but succumbed to the Eagles in Week 11 at home.

Six teams have been eliminated within the wild-card round of the 2024 NFL playoffs, and four more games are scheduled for this weekend to the divisional round.

Among these is a highly anticipated NFC clash between the Green Bay Packers, an underdog, and the San Francisco 49ers, a favored team.

A substantial amount of football remains until the airing of Super Bowl LVIII on CBS, Nickelodeon, and Paramount+.

The Baltimore Ravens are the No. 1 seed in the AFC Conference, finished the regular season with the best record in the NFL (13-4), and quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is 27 years old, appears poised to win his second MVP award.

However, notwithstanding Baltimore’s resounding victories in December over the San Francisco 49ers or Miami Dolphins, the 49ers have been heavy favorites to win Super Bowl 58 since late November due to their NFC-leading-seeded, star-studded roster.

The 2022 season has concluded, and in Super Bowl 57, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35. The NFL has commenced the offseason at this point.

Franchises will prioritize contract negotiations, trades, extension evaluations, and draft prospect assessments during this period.

They engage in such maneuvers to enhance their performance for the forthcoming season and potentially retain their championship status.

Preliminary assessments of Super Bowl 58 were recently published by multiple sportsbooks.

All five of the most heavily favored teams are those that advanced to the divisional round of the 2022 playoffs.
