Oddsmakers in the NFL think the 49ers will win the Super Bowl.

This story about how NFL experts see the 49ers’ chances of winning the Super Bowl first appeared upon NBC Sports Bay Area. The 49ers need three more wins to win their sixth Lombardi Trophy as a team.

San Francisco is on the NFC’s path to Super Bowl LVIII. The 49ers had a great regular season, going 12-5 and earning the No. 1 spot in the NFC playoffs in Week 17.

“Yes, there is a lot of chalk here. I think a big part of that is that once your get past the first group, the conference kind of flattens out, and you quickly get to the teams that are hurt, flawed, or young.”

“That leaves a great chance for the two teams I have to win the Super Bowl. These are teams that have tapped on the door and looked as ready as they’ve ever been to blow it down to advance to what would be an amazing rematch.”

I support the Niners because I think it will be hard for them to lose to this good of a team twice.

“Also, I think McCaffrey might be the X-factor in that game, following going for 131 scrimmage distance on 20 touches during both teams’ single season showdown—winning a ring via the same franchise that his father did in 1994 and polishing a case for Fame that could get reasonably compelling with an encouraging playoff run.”

Donte Whitner of NBC Sports Bay Area thinks that the 49ers will get an extra help to make it to Super Bowl LVIII, on top of getting a first-round goodbye and playing all of their games at home during the playoffs.

“There’s a single player for the 49ers this is key for the 49ers capturing which Lombardi Trophy,” Whitner stated on “Hitner’s Hot Take.”No, Brock Purdy is not it.

It is not McCaffrey Christian. They are not Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel. Even Trent Williams. It’s not Fred Warner. It’s not any of the other players. That would be Arik Armstead for me.”

Army missed his fourth straight game on Sunday because of foot pain in the plantar fascia. The defensive tackle has not worked since Week 13 of preseason.

It’s also unclear whether he will be able to play in next Sunday’s period finale against the Los Angeles Rams, though 49ers boss Kyle Shanahan declared it’s unlikely he will.

Before getting hurt, the 30-year-old was having a great comeback season. In 12 games, he had 27 stops, five sacks, and 13 QB hits.

Sebastian Joseph-Day was signed by San Francisco last week to help the team’s defensive line depth while Armstead is out, but Whitner thinks that the nine-year veteran can’t be replaced.

“In the past four weeks since Arik Armstead went out, there’s been an enormous gap in the middle within the 49ers’ defense,” said Whitner. “Look at it this way: it’s like a puzzle.”

Arik Armstead makes things difficult for other teams by being long enough to get on and off of blocks and ignore offensive tackles. This lets Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw play smoothly.

It was widely said by Sean “Jay-Z” Carter on the Blueprint 3: “Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.” A few important numbers tell a bigger story when it comes to predicting and judging the NFL.

I’ll give you those numbers every week in this space, whether it’s for your bets, survivor pools, fantasy picks, or to talk about at your NFL live party and in group chats.

As the season goes on, the Baltimore Ravens are getting better, not worse. They are the best scoring team. In 11 straight games, they’ve scored 20 or more points.

Since Week 7, they’ve won eight games with 30 or more points. They’ve done it against the best teams in the league.

They’ve beaten the Rams, the Jaguars, the 49ers, and the Dolphins since their bye week. All but a single of those matches were landslides.
