Valencia Basket is reinforced with the Ukrainian Alina Iagupova, double MVP of the Euroleague

Valencia Basket announced this Thursday that it has closed the signing until the end of this season of the Ukrainian forward Alina Iagupova, from the Turkish Cukurova and who was elected 'MVP' of the Women's Euroleague consecutively in the years 2020 and 2021.

“Valencia Basket has reached an agreement with Ukrainian forward Alina Iagupova to join its first women's team for the remainder of the season. The two-time MVP of the women's Euroleague is a 'Top 5' scorer in this edition of the competition, will be under the command of Rubén Burgos to help raise the level and fight for all the objectives in the decisive part of the season,” the Valencian team highlighted in a statement.

The 31-year-old was named Europe's best player two years in a row when she played for Turkish club Fenerbahçe. In 2020, after the competition was stopped in the quarterfinals due to the pandemic, he won the MVP award averaging 21.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists, while a year later, when he led the team Istanbul to the 'Final Four' with 20.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
