Communication is fundamental in our society. But in addition to being able to communicate with words, we can also pay attention to the expressions or gestures that a person has to understand them. However, understanding a body and facial expression of someone can be quite complicated if we do not deal with a person and much less if we focus on cats.

Cats are very dear animals in society, but by having such an independent behavior, they often fail to understand them. Still, cat owners know their feline friends perfectly and although these animals cannot speak, they have many other ways of expressing what they feel.

A recent study by biologist Georgia Mason concluded that there are few people able to correctly understand the facial expressions of cats. If you think you are in that small group of people, you can try it by doing a simple test.

A test in which to answer if the cat has a positive or negative emotion

The Cat Faces Study is composed of 8 questions. In each of them a video of a cat appears doing something specific and according to this we have to answer if it is having a positive or negative emotion. Once the test is finished, if our results are good we can perform a second test but with more complicated questions.

Although it seems that the test is simple, the videos have been modified so that we can only see the face of the cat and thus not help us with the external situation. To get a positive result we will have to be attentive to all the movements of each cat.
