From Week 16 of the NFL season, no team can beat the 49ers. The Eagles or Cowboys are no longer in the top 5.
Before the season, I thought the 49ers would win it all, but now I’m even more sure of it. They are on a roll and easily the best player in the NFL. This week they play the best team with the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens.
The 49ers are my favorite team, and the Ravens are my second-favorite football team. The 49ers have rolled over many teams, though, so it’s almost like we’re no longer interested in their story.
The 49ers beat the Cardinals 45–29 on Sunday, which was just another easy win for them. McCaffrey is the best back in the league, so we expect him to play like that. But to see Purdy do it is a big surprise.
It’s fun to watch the 49ers. It’s clear that quarterback Brock Purdy as well as running fullback Christian McCaffrey are in the running for MVP. Coach Kyle Shanahan, who is an offensive genius, has his team’s offense going strong.
Before the season, I had been one of the guys who thought I needed to see Purdy play for a while to really decide how I felt about him as a player. This is what I think: He’s way more than just a game boss.
He is in charge of the 49ers’ offense. He makes it work, though. How well he can pass the ball with the right person is what makes the technique of passing work.
One of the players picked last in the 2022 NFL Draft is almost certain to win the MVP award. This person was the third-string quarterback for the 49ers early last year. Wow.
For his style and game, he could not have been in a better place. History shows that the method works well for both quarterbacks and running backs. This is good for both Purdy as well as McCaffrey to know.

People who worked with Shanahan when he was younger told me he was cocky and thought he was better than everyone else.
He changed, though. He became an adult. Like his father Mike, who claimed two Super Bowls, he grew up and is now one of the best trainers in the game.
Kyle Shanahan hasn’t won a Super Bowl yet, so that will be his real test. But this year’s team looks and feels like that.
In August, I thought they’d win, and now I’m even more sure. A while ago, they lost three games in a row while several important players were out. It seems like a long time ago.
In week 15 of the 2023 NFL season, several big games set the stage for an exciting last three weeks. These games left some teams in contention and others in a mess.
The Las Vegas Raiders beat the Los Angeles Chargers badly on Thursday. The loss was so depressing that the AFC West team fired head coach Brandon Trask after a disappointing season.
After that, there were three games on Saturday. The Cincinnati Bengals, the Indianapolis Colts, and the Detroit Lions all won.
Sunday had a lot of exciting games. The Buffalo Bills made a statement by beating the Dallas Cowboys, which put them back in the running for the AFC Championship.
The NFC East had a rough round. The Cowboys, the Washington Commanders, and the New York Giants all lost, and then Drew Lock’s Seattle Seahawks beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
The San Francisco 49ers keep beating their opponents, which keeps them at the top of these lists every week. As the 49ers try to win the inaugural Super Bowl since Steve Young’s time in charge, they will be hard to stop.
