Dylan Raiola Commits to the Nebraska Huskers, Which Makes Carriker Gut Sick

The Huskers have signed five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola! Nebraska has never had a better prospect than this one, and he’s the best quarterback among the 2024 class. Adam talks about the Huskers’ new quarterback and how he feels about him.

Today is the day who Nebraska supporters have been waiting for. Dylan Raiola, a five-star quarterback, has changed his mind and will now play for the Cornhuskers in the class of 2024 instead of the Georgia Bulldogs. Raiola is the best prospect to pledge to the Cornhuskers in the history of modern recruiting.

Dominic Raiola, his father, played for Nebraska from 1998 to 2000 and won the first Rimington Trophy. There are strong family ties to the school. Donovan, his uncle, is the offensive line coach at Nebraska.

Raiola was the head coach at Buford (Georgia) High School last year, and they went 11-2. The prospect passed for 2,819 yards, 34 touchdowns, and one interception. During his high school career, he threw for 8,442 yards, 88 scores, and 11 picks.

Even during the pandemic, recruiting never stopped. In fact, Nebraska’s teams did pretty well for a year when schools weren’t allowed to meet prospects or recruit them in person.

That changed in June, when the College Football Playoff lifted its ban on in-person recruiting. It was like a breath of fresh air came back onto the Husker halls.
There were a lot of top prospects on the men’s basketball team, including two five-star talents for the 2023 class.

Elkhorn North wing Britt Prince, a 2024 recruit, was able to come to NU for a private visit. She is the best player in the state. The Husker rugby team also did a lot of work.

A lot of tents. Twenty visits from officials. There are six commitments, and one is for the class of 2023. Moving one thing. Raiola is the best prospect to pledge to the Cornhuskers within the history of modern recruiting.

Coming into July, the Huskers already have seven pledges for the class of 2022. The 247Sports average ranks them 46th in the country, while Rivals ranks them 48th. In the Big Ten, they are within the middle of the pack.

Because of the NCAA’s decision to let more players join during the pandemic, Nebraska director Scott Frost says the team might have the smallest signing class in recent memory—possibly as few as 14 players.

I feel better about Rhule running a Husker football team as I learn more about him. He is both tough-minded and intellectual, and he is always upbeat, which is an interesting mix that’s hard to pull off.

He doesn’t rage toward the darkness, like how big college football is based on making money at all costs; instead, he lights a candle.

He clearly doesn’t mind using NIL in clever ways, but he works his program in a very old-fashioned way. Start from the bottom and work your way up. Train your players.
