The Longines Legend Diver renews its image

The iconic diver's watch is recognizable by its two crowns and internal rotating bezel

MADRID, 11 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Longines Legend Diver, the emblematic watch of the Swiss 'premium' brand, renews its image with a diameter of 39 millimeters, faithful to the original 1959 model from which it is inspired and is available with a black or blue dial.

The Longines name has always been linked to the world of sport and exploration, whether by land, sea or air. Already in 1937 the house launched the first chronograph with waterproof parts that it patented in 1938, followed by its first underwater watch in 1958.

A year later, Longines developed a watch designed especially for underwater exploration. It came with a revolutionary Super-compressor case with a rotating internal disc and two screw-down crowns: thus was born the iconic design of the Longines Legend Diver.

Today, this legendary tool watch has expanded to a whole line of new models, renewed both inside and out.
Presented in a completely redesigned 39 mm case, the new Longines Legend Diver is Divers' Watch certified (diving watch, ISO 6425) and is resistant to 30 bar (300 meters).

In addition, the entire watch is chronometer certified by COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres), an independent control body.

During the certification process, the watch head, with the movement running in the case, is tested for 15 consecutive, uninterrupted days in different positions and at three temperature levels to ensure its accuracy.

The model is powered by an exclusive Longines caliber L888.6 equipped with a silicon hairspring and innovative components, offering a magnetic resistance ten times higher than that established by the ISO 764 standard.

This extremely precise mechanical movement offers a power reserve of up to 72 hours. The instantly recognizable dial does not include a date and is available in black or lacquered blue. It is covered by a domed sapphire crystal with black metal plating and several anti-reflective layers on both sides.

The hours are marked by elongated indexes and raised luminescent Arabic numerals. The new rhodium-plated and polished hands covered in Super LumiNova tell the time with optimal visibility in any circumstance, day and night.

Another emblematic feature of this model would be the bidirectional rotating internal bezel with which to measure the dive time. The position of the bezel inside the case protects it from manipulations and accidental knocks that could disrupt the parameters.

The screw-in crown at 2 o'clock is used to activate it on a 60-minute graduated scale. This is located on the edge of the case and is covered at 12 o'clock with a luminescent triangle.

The new stainless steel case combines polished surfaces with satin-brushed surfaces. The symbol of the collection, a diver, is stamped on the screwed, angled caseback of the watch case.

These models are available with a brown leather strap, a blue NATO strap and a new stainless steel bracelet with a double folding safety clasp.
