Sporting de Gijón and Valladolid want to continue pushing Leganés to the top

MADRID, 7 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Sporting de Gijón and Real Valladolid face Levante UD and SD Amorebieta respectively this weekend, during matchday 19 of LaLiga Hypermotion, with the firm objective of shortening or at least maintaining their distance from the leader CD Leganés, who receives CD Eldense at home.

Miguel Ángel Ramírez's team, second classified with 32 points, receives this Saturday in El Molinón (6:30 p.m.) a Levante that is in decline and is tenth. However, the team from Gijón has had two defeats, one in the league and another more recent one against Unionistas de Salamanca (2-0), being eliminated in the thirty-second round of the Copa del Rey.

They receive a Levante with four points out of a possible 15 in their last five League games, and who were also eliminated at home against Amorebieta (0-1) last Wednesday in the Copa del Rey. Despite this, their last league match ended with a 'granota' victory against a Valladolid team that aspires to promotion.

Meanwhile, Valladolid itself seeks to recover the victorious path and position itself in a direct promotion zone. Tied on points with Sporting, they host Amorebieta this Saturday (4:15 p.m.) at the José Zorrilla Stadium, with the intention of erasing the bad feelings of their last defeat in the League and their elimination in the Cup against Espanyol (3-1).

Opposite there will be a rival who is in the critical zone (20th) and who wants to start expanding his points record (14) in order to save the category. In the League they have had two defeats, but they come with fresh air after continuing to advance in the Cup, where they beat Levante (0-1) at the Ciutat de València Stadium.

On the other hand, leader Leganés (36 pts.) wants to maintain distance over its pursuers by winning its duel this Sunday (6:30 p.m.) against Eldense in Butarque. The 'pepinero' team, yes, has a margin even if they lost, although this difference has been shortened in recent calendar dates; 'Lega' has not won in the last three league games.

Eldense is fifteenth and has three defeats between the League and the Cup, after losing at La Rosaleda (1-0) against Málaga. Fernando Estévez's team has 23 points and a solid advantage over Huesca, which marks the relegation (16 points), but a victory would distance them even further from the critical zone and would end the bad streak of the Alicante team.

The day will open this Friday (6:30 p.m.) with Albacete hosting Villarreal B, both in the fight to distance themselves from the bottom, while it will close on Monday with Tenerife that will host Alcorcón (9:00 p.m.) in relegation positions. The Chicharrero team wants from its ninth position to reconnect with the play-off positions, where it was several times at the beginning of this season.
