The TAD denies Granada the precautionary measure regarding elimination in the Cup

MADRID, 27 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Sports Administrative Court (TAD) has denied Granada CF the precautionary measure requested against the resolution of the Appeal Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which on November 15 rejected the appeal filed against its elimination from the Cup. del Rey 2023-24 due to improper alignment of goalkeeper Adri López in their first tie against Arosa, the media specialized in sports law IUSPORT reported this Monday.

At the time, the Single Disciplinary Judge of the RFEF sanctioned the Nasrid team with the loss of the match and the subsequent elimination from the tournament after accepting the claim of the Galician team after the match that both played on November 2 in A Lomba (0- 3).

The magistrate responded to the request of the Arousano team when he understood that it was “not” valid for the goalkeeper, 24 years old and with the reserve team – the Club Recreativo Granada B – to line up with the first team, since this option is only allowed for footballers with the status of goalkeeper but “only in professional competitions”; The Copa del Rey is considered “an official state-level competition of a non-professional nature.”

The Andalusian team asked to revoke said resolution and the adoption of precautionary measures, arguing that the ‘KO’ tournament is a professional competition. However, the TAD has denied the precautionary measure, so the elimination of the Nasrid group is maintained.
