Marc Márquez: “I got a little stuck behind Zarco and I couldn’t pass him”

MADRID, 18 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) regretted having “been a little stuck” this Saturday behind the Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati) and “not” having “been able to pass him” during the MotoGP Sprint at the Qatar Grand Prix, nineteenth and penultimate event of the Motorcycle World Championship.

“We started the race very well and had a good first lap. Unfortunately, shortly after I had an incident with Binder, things happen. Then I got a little stuck behind Zarco and couldn’t pass him, which has limited us,” Márquez declared to the Repsol Honda team’s official media.

“Towards the end of the race I went wide in turn 1 and had contact with Raúl Fernández. On a circuit like Qatar, these things can happen because when you go a little off the line it is very slippery,” concluded the driver. Cervera driver, eleventh at the finish line.

His teammate Joan Mir had worse luck. “Today has been a very hard day and obviously we cannot be happy with the result. There are some things that we have to review thoroughly to better understand our situation for tomorrow’s race,” he commented.

“I expected more from today, because it seemed that we had found the direction to follow on Friday. Tomorrow we have another opportunity, so let’s see what is possible,” concluded Mir, who finished nineteenth that Sprint in Losail.
