High heels, waist movement and an air kiss: Meryl Streep dances to the rhythm of bagpipes in Oviedo

Meryl Streep has conquered (even more) the hearts of Oviedo this Wednesday, when, to the rhythm of bagpipes, a dance was held at the exit of the Hotel de la Reconquista. Awarded in the Arts category, the actress is preparing for the celebration this Friday, October 20, of the 43rd edition of the Princess of Asturias Awards.

The interpreter arrived in the Asturian capital this Tuesday morning, and for the rest of the day she dedicated herself to resting. She had to gather strength for the days to come and to meet her public, who in the vicinity of her hotel received her with applause, banners and calls for praise. Oh mama! The Hollywood star’s response has been none other than throwing kisses in the air, laughing and even starting to dance.

The artist has performed a dance based on clicking her heels and moving her waist when the ‘El Gumial’ Bagpipe Band from Aller has begun to play the instruments next to her. Visibly happy and grateful, the actress enjoyed the performance and, afterwards, she said goodbye to the fans.

The video circulates on social networks like wildfire. And, although almost no one doubted his sympathy, the image was, to say the least, surprising. It is not every day that a celebrity of Streep’s stature, considered one of the best actresses in history, arrives in Oviedo and moves to the rhythms of regional rhythms.

On the occasion of the arrival to Spain of the triple Oscar winner, a few days ago the musical inspired by ABBA’s repertoire was screened in the town of Porrúa, winner of the Exemplary Town Award in 2005.
