De la Fuente calls Pedraza after the victory against Scotland
MADRID, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The national football coach, Luis de la Fuente, called up this Thursday night Alfonso Pedraza for Spain’s duel on Sunday against Norway in Oslo, in the qualifying phase for EURO 2024, as a replacement for the absence of Nico Williams and Alejandro Balde for physical discomfort.
“Luis de la Fuente has called Alfonso Pedraza, who will join the group this Friday to prepare for the duel against Norway. Nico Williams and Alejandro Balde have been ruled out due to physical problems after Spain’s victory against Scotland (2-0)” , says the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
The coach himself announced at a press conference the discomfort of both players, nothing serious, he noted, still explaining that they do not run any risk with the health of the players. “Williams has had a strain in his intercostal muscles since last Tuesday, while Balde suffers discomfort in his adductors,” the Federation statement states.
De la Fuente called Pedraza, a Villarreal player, to travel to Norway in an equally momentous duel like the one this Thursday in La Cartuja. The Nordic team is third in Group A with 10 points, two behind the Spanish team.
