Giuliano Simeone leaves the last Alavés friendly by ambulance

MADRID, 6 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish-Argentine forward Giuliano Simeone left by ambulance this Sunday the friendly between Deportivo Alavés against Burgos, held in Briviesca, due to a harsh challenge from a rival.

The Atlético de Madrid player, son of the rojiblanco coach Diego Pablo Simeone, renewed his contract with the Madrid team this summer until 2028 and was transferred to the Vitoria team.

After the move two weeks ago, Simeone became part of the dynamics of an Alavés that achieved promotion to LaLiga EA Sports, First Division, last season, playing the last four games of the Vitoria preseason.

Against Burgos this Sunday, Simeone scored his own goal, 2-1, in the 81st minute, shortly before Matos’s entry that set off alarm bells. The ambulance entered the pitch and took the footballer to a hospital, apparently with a severely affected ankle, while the game was suspended, pending the medical report.

Luis García Plaza’s men finished their set-up for the season that begins next week in Burgos this Sunday, with their first league match against Cádiz, on Monday the 14th.
