The Austrian appointment runs out of Spaniards in the quarterfinals
MADRID, 2 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish tennis players Albert Ramos and Roberto Carballés said goodbye this Wednesday to the ATP 250 category tournament in Kitzbühel (Austria), which is played on clay, after falling in the second round at the hands of the Argentines Pedro Cachín and Sebastián Báez.
Ramos ran into a Cachín again that prevented him from being crowned in the Gstaad (Switzerland) tournament two weeks ago. The accounts of that final were left unsettled for the Catalan, with a defeat by 7-5 and 6-3. An even match in which the Argentine took better advantage of his ‘break’ options, especially in the second set.
Meanwhile, Carballés, in a losing streak since he won the Marrakech tournament in April, lost to fellow Argentine Baéz 6-1, 6-2 in just over an hour. The player from Tenerife only had one ‘break’ ball in the entire match, when the South American already had the first set in his hand, with no further reaction afterwards to avoid defeat.
