American power forward Tanner Leissner joins Zunder Palencia

MADRID, 31 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The American power forward Tanner Leissner, 27 years old and 2.01 meters tall, has become a new Zunder Palencia player this Monday for the imminent 2023/24 season, after having played the last season at EWE Baskets Oldenburg.

This has been confirmed by the Palencia club. “Leissner reinforces the inner game of the new Zunder Palencia, which adds the first non-EU member of its squad”, he specified in his press release about a player born on September 17, 1995 in Converse (Texas).

At EWE Baskets Oldenburg, he averaged 10 points (34.3% on 3-pointers and 86.4% on free throws) and 5.7 rebounds. “A tireless player, fighter and productive on both sides of the pitch, whose career also includes other teams from the first leagues,” the note added.

In this sense, Leissner played for Lithuanian Rytas Vilnius during the 2021/22 campaign, with which he played in the Basketball Champions League, and also played for Turkish Afyon, MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg and Israeli Hapoel Beer Sheva.

“Before, Leissner had already stood out during his university days in the ranks of the New Hampshire Wildcats, where he was first chosen as the ‘rookie’ of the year of his conference; and he closed his NCAA journey as the all-time top scorer (1,962 points in 121 games ) from that university”, the press text concluded.
