Savic, about Manchester City: “It’s going to be a demanding game for us”

The Atlético de Madrid coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, stated this Friday that he has “a very important squad” under his orders, downplaying the uncomfortable situation of striker João Félix at the mattress club and the rumors of departure that hang over the also attackers Álvaro Morata and Yannick Carrasco.
“The boys who have arrived come to add, to give us more options and more internal competition. And well, I see that the team is growing. Both Riquelme and Lino are also different from the players we had on the squad. They give us speed, they give us places on the outside to be able to have the game we choose. So I see that we have a squad, if we could close it in this way, very important”, said ‘Cholo’ Simeone at a press conference from Seoul (South Korea).
“Korean fans will all be with Atlético de Madrid for sure, more than with Manchester City. So that’s going to make us very happy and we hope to enjoy a great game”, assessed the Atlético coach, regarding the next friendly commitment of preseason for Asian lands.
In this sense, Simeone pointed out of Manchester City that “everything he does is good”. “Everything he does is to observe and get ideas, for each of the teams that accompany City; to know the place we have, and I like everything he does,” argued the Argentine coach.
In addition, the ‘Cholo’ reduced the tension about the continuity or the goodbye of the Portuguese João Félix. “The squad will be confirmed when the transfer window closes, right? It’s clear that we have a good group, we have a good team and I think we’re growing,” he summed up about a squad where Álvaro Morata and Yannick Carrasco might not continue.

Along with Simeone, Stefan Savic also appeared before the journalists. “The truth is that it’s good to play against City. It’s the team that won the Premier, the one that won the Champions League and it’s going to be a demanding game for us and for them surely, and it will help us to prepare well and see when we are right now because we are already training very well”, declared the Montenegrin.
“We played well, I think we played a good game,” Savic said despite the 3-2 defeat against Team K-League, the South Korean soccer star team. “It really is a good game to play because every player likes to play against strong teams,” Savic insisted.
The current mattress defender played for Manchester City many seasons ago. “They are very different now, I think. I got there from Serbia, it was a very important and big change for me. And I suffered a little physically because I was 20 years old,” he recalled. “You get to the Premier and the players and the teams are very physical,” he added.
“Then in Serie A there are a lot of tactics and it’s not as intense as the Premier or in Spain. I think the best football is played in Spain. All the teams play very well and have very offensive players, very good one-on-one one and, really, that in Spain they play football very well. I’m happy because I can play here and for having participated in those three major European leagues”, he concluded.
