The fine that could fall (or not) to Matamoros if he is absent at the polling station that touched him: “Whatever God wants”

Kiko Matamoroswhich has already begun its journey with Netflix after the end of Save me, showed great indignation a week ago when he announced that he had been called to be at a polling station. Something that he regretted because he turned 66 last December and, according to the law, people over 65 can be absent in the case of being called to the table.

Marta López Álamo’s husband He wrote on Instagram, angry: “Those over 65 are exempt from being part of a polling station, despite this they summon me as a substitute member. They provide a contact telephone number, which I have called 40 times since Friday; there is no answer. Thank you for your impeccable work to the Madrid Zone Electoral Board. I am not going to take another step, whatever God wants. ”

Among the personal reasons for which a person can be absent from a polling station, the following are: being over 65 years of age, suffering from a disability, having to undergo surgery on days close to the elections or being sick or on sick leave. In the case of women, also being pregnant for more than 6 months or having a risk pregnancy.

Matamoros, after his indignant message, did not later reveal whether or not he managed to contact the Electoral Board to clarify his doubts. Although a priori there should be no problem being absent, this is the penalty faced by people who do not show up at the table after being summoned by the Board: imprisonment from 3 months to one year or a fine from 6 to 24 months.
