Toni Bou (Repsol Honda) defends leadership in the TrialGP of Italy

Bou: “I have only competed once in Sestriere and I have never been able to get a victory”

BARCELONA, July 19. (EUROPEAN PRESS) –

The Spanish trial rider Toni Bou (Repsol Honda) faces the TrialGP of Italy this weekend with the intention of defending his provisional lead in the championship and, incidentally, looking for his first victory in Sestriere, where he has only competed once and without being able to climb to the top of the podium.

The sixth round of the season is held in the town of Sestriere, after twenty years of absence from the calendar and in a well-known ski resort where Toni Bou will look for a victory that will allow him to establish himself at the top of this TrialGP.

“I have only competed once in Sestriere and I have never been able to get an individual victory in the Italian town. I would love to inaugurate my record there this weekend, I usually like competitions in Italy a lot so our goal will be to win,” he commented in statements provided by the team.

“I am looking forward to both appointments, we want to continue the good run of results. It will be a difficult competition due to the altitude, but the team has done a good job and we will give our 100%. It is a very tight championship and it will be important not to make mistakes”, he added.

Toni Bou leads the general classification with 191 points after chaining four consecutive victories in San Marino and Andorra. The current champion of the outdoor discipline will seek this weekend to consolidate himself in the first position of the general classification and continue his winning streak.

The Italian event will be the last before the summer break, so it will be important for both Repsol Honda Trial Team riders to collect as many points as possible to consolidate their positions in the general standings.
