MADRID, 22 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
TikTok has become the official provider of the Tour de France, whose next edition will start on July 1 in Bilbao and end on July 23 in Paris, according to the social network in a statement.
TikTok content creators will share the Tour de France with users of the platform through different formats, stories and points of view.
@Carlosaizpun_bike and @diegovos__ will be the Spanish creators that will be part of this experience, providing their perspective and sharing exclusive content with the community.
Thanks to this partnership, TikTok will bring the Tour and the Tour de France Femmes with Zwift, from July 23 to 30, to new audiences and fans around the world.
The different stages of the Tour will also provide an opportunity to showcase local TikTok content creators and the richness and diversity of the Spanish and French regions that both events cover.
TikTok will bring the two iconic races of the men’s and women’s cycling calendar to life for an audience of more than a billion users around the world, including 150 million users in Europe.
From #Bilbao to #ChampsElysees, each stage will be an invitation to discovery, directly in the app. Every day, TikTok users around the world will find new content posted on the official @LeTourDeFrance account, with more than 319,000 followers, as well as numerous videos created and posted by teams, cyclists, partners, fans and followers of La Grande Boucle, accessible on TikTok under the hashtag #TourDeFrance and #SportsEnTikTok.
“We are extremely proud to partner with the 2023 edition of the Tour de France. The creativity of the TikTok community will bring an undeniably fresh perspective to both the men’s and women’s competition, as well as an unprecedented level of visibility commensurate with the engagement and dedication of these extraordinary athletes,” said Marlène Masure, Director of Operations for TikTok France, Benelux and Southern Europe.
For his part, ASO’s Director of Media and Associations, Julien Goupil, highlighted the originality of the content offered by TikTok which, according to him, “fits perfectly with the ambition of the Tour de France.” “To make the event known everywhere, to the whole world and with the spontaneous and creative vision of all. The contents created at the foot of the road will enrich the existing ones and will gather the public around the event on an even larger scale”, he stressed.
