Eugenia de York, mother of her second child: “He is named after his great-great-grandfather, Ernest George”

The Windsors are celebrating. The princess eugeniedaughter of Andrew of York y Sarah Ferguson, has announced the birth of their second child, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. “Jack and I want to share the news that we had our little boy on May 30, 2023 at 8:49 a.m.,” she wrote on social media.

Along with a beautiful image of the baby, the mother explains that her second child “is named after his great-great-grandfather, his grandfather George and my grandfather Ronald.” Thus, the princess wanted to pay tribute to two of her most beloved ancestors: George VI (father of Elizabeth II) and George Brooksbank (the newborn’s paternal grandfather, who died in November 2021), and Ronnie (Ronald), father of Sarah Ferguson and Eugenia’s maternal grandfather, who died in 2003.

Eugenia, who married the businessman Jack Brooksbank in October 2018, she adds: “Augie (his first child) already loves being his big brother.” Ernest is the thirteenth great-grandchild of Elizabeth II, the first to be born after the death of the queen, on September 8.

Ernest occupies the thirteenth place in the line of succession to the British throne, behind Prince William and his three children, George, Charlotte and Louis; Prince Harry and his two descendants of him, Archie and Lilibet; his maternal grandfather, Prince Andrew; her maternal aunt, Princess Beatrice of York, and her daughter, Sienna Mapelli; as well as his mother and his older brother, August.
