Ana Soria vents with Enrique Ponce: “I have endured a lot and I have gone to therapy, I have had a very bad time”

In love and determined to stand up to all their detractors once and for all. So they have appeared Enrique Ponce y Ana Soria in the anthill, where they have given their first interview together. The first to speak was the right-handed one, quite a declaration of love: “Ana is the person I am madly in love with. He has great human qualities, he has a big heart and we have endured insults and slander. She is very strong and I still love her more. We have gone through very painful moments and we have had a bad time. I want to thank the people who have given us all their love over the years.”

Ana has explained the reasons why she has decided to grant this first interview: “I wanted them to know me because there are many people who have given me a lot of cane, they talk about me without knowing me. When I fall in love with him I become someone known without being able to choose. We have been putting up with a lot of things that hurt for three years and I wanted people to see that I am a normal girl, with feelings and judge me by what comes out of my mouth here today.”

Already more relaxed, they have recounted how their love story began: “I went to fight in Almería and I saw her on the line. She noticed. I asked a friend about her and I got the round job,” said Ponce between laughs “I realized that he was looking at me and I was ashamed, but at one point their eyes met and I felt a crush. Our first date was a dinner in a private room and he kept telling me that his sister was a lawyer. I I was very nervous. My heart was pounding. Before that we had been talking on the phone a lot.”

Neither of them imagined that their relationship would generate so much controversy and expectation: “There is a part of the press that has mistreated us a lot, we have been characters, not people. We were not prepared to manage that and I leaned a lot on him. I have gone to therapy, because the situation was affecting me a lot and I didn’t have the tools to manage it”, Ana recounted. “He has taught me to relativize it a lot and to realize that none of those who spoke about me really knew me. The height of bad milk was a false news that said that they had thrown me out, booed, from the bullring in Granada. It was not true. I saw him in his first bullfight and I left the ring because I was very scared seeing him risk his life.” Ponce added: “I couldn’t believe it and look, I’ve seen atrocities in my life.”

The young woman has taken the opportunity to clarify that she is not an influencer nor does she intend to: “I only have one account with my followers, nothing more.” He has resumed his Law studies, which he had to leave due to his state of mind: “I cried in front of the notes. I would like to have it now but I found myself in a difficult situation and there have been a couple of years that I could not cope with the studies. Now I am at the top and I have nothing left. My parents are both lawyers and I always knew that I would dedicate myself to this”.

“Love is not thought, it is something that is felt, and what is not an impediment for us should not be for anyone else. He is much more active, he is the one who pulls me. Love is free and each one should fall in love with whomever he wanted”, said Ana, 25 years younger than the bullfighter. “Age is just a number,” added Ponce. “Age is in the head, in the spirit, in the mood.” Both say that this issue has only given them more strength to move forward.

They have also talked about Ponce’s withdrawal from the arenas: “I want to clarify that she understands me and always supports me. They came to blame her for my decision and it was not like that at all. I had been ruminating on it for a while, it was many years in a row, many runs, many hotels, many trips… And I had the need to stop”. Ponce, 51, recalled some of his toughest moments in the arena: “I’ve had several very hard gorings. Now I don’t think about fighting, I’ve had offers but I won’t do a big tour again.”

At the moment, Paloma Cuevas’ ex is getting rid of the itch by riding calves with his girl: “I feel deep respect for anyone who stands in front of an animal like that. I don’t know how to fight, I just give a few passes, although I have a good teacher. The feeling is beautiful,” she said.
