María del Monte assures that “dark things” have happened to her after coming out of the closet: “They have tried to hurt me”

The Diversa 2023 Awards, which claim the rights of the LGTBIQ+ collective, were held this Thursday, May 18, in Madrid with María del Monte among the winners. The queen of the Sevillanas made an impact with some surprising statements: she spoke of “hidden things” that have happened to her after her historic proclamation at last year’s Seville Pride, held in June.

The singer, according to Public mirrorhe lamented after collecting his award: “After coming out of the closet they have tried to hurt me, dark things have happened to me that I will tell about.”

As explained by the journalist Nando Escribano, present among the public at the event, the folkloric asked the attendees to stop recording with their mobile phones before pronouncing these delicate words.

According to the journalist, María del Monte added: “There are hidden things out there, but now I’m not going to tell them because I don’t feel like it. Hopefully in a few years we won’t have to say who or how we are. Hopefully this happens soon because I like it people who go with the truth ahead. Because you have to be careful when you spit upwards and it could fall on top of you”.

Escribano drew his own conclusions: “I don’t know if someone has tried to blackmail her… I thought she was going for someone in particular. Everyone thought of Isabel Pantoja, but we don’t know who she was going for.”

After the confusion generated on the set, the artist has entered by phone to try to clarify the matter: “Only one thing has happened. I have to make sure before saying it because it is important enough.”

In this sense, the singer has also added: “I am a cautious person and I don’t know if what has come to me is true (…) But there has been something. It has to do with work. How can it be? anything, but I don’t want to play at speculating.”

Thus, María has not rushed and has reserved some information until she has it well tied: “That is why I tell you that I want to confirm it. Because the thing has a magnitude to be cautious and at the moment take the measures that have to be taken. I’m waiting to confirm it. They are delicate things. It’s not easy to make a scandal out of anything, I’m not like that. Prudence, caution and quarantine things that come to you.”

Despite opting for silence, he ended his speech with a dart: “I closed by saying: ‘Be careful with wanting to take away the rights of others because the one who you are taking it from is your children or grandchildren.'”

For the moment, we will have to wait for the singer to verify and give more information about the stone she has thrown, hiding her hand.
