Joan Laporta appears this Monday to give explanations about the ‘Negreira case’

The president of FC Barcelona, ​​Joan Laporta, will appear this Monday from 11:00 a.m., at the Auditori 1899 of the Spotify Camp Nou, to give the pertinent explanations about what is known as the ‘Negreira case’ after an investigation by the blaugrana entity .

In mid-February, Cadena SER reported for the first time the now well-known ‘Negreira case’, with payments worth 7.3 million euros by FC Barcelona to the then vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), José María Enríquez Negreira, from 2001 to 2018.

On February 21, in an act at the Spotify Camp Nou, Laporta assured that the club was investigating what happened and that he would make an appearance. “We want to give all the explanations, it won’t be too late,” he said then.

That same day, he assured, regarding his first term -in which Negreira was paid– that the “technical arbitration services” were made with the corresponding invoice and the “corresponding” documentary and video support.

“What has been done later is under investigation and when we have more information, we will communicate it. Shortly, in the shortest possible time, we will hold a press conference to explain the information we have about these years,” he announced, pointing to the Sandro Rosell and Josep Maria Bartomeu presidencies.

This Monday, after almost two months of institutional silence -beyond that act-, Joan Laporta will explain the version of the club, his version as president affected in his first term, of a case that is being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor for possible crimes of corruption in business in the sports field, unfair administration, misappropriation and false commercial documents.
