AFE defends a minimum wage of 25,000 euros next season in the negotiation of the League F collective agreement

MADRID, 3 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Association of Spanish Soccer Players (AFE) has insisted that its position for the renewal and modification of the collective agreement for soccer players in the F League requires that it have a duration of two years and that it includes a minimum salary of 20,000 euros, this season, and 25,000 euros, the next course, for the players.

The union explained that in the last meeting of the negotiating table, held on March 28, they met “a firm employer and concerned about the viability of the competition”, but that they proposed signing a collective agreement for a duration of five years with Valid until the 2026-27 season.

In these campaigns, the minimum wages would be 16,000, 17,500, 19,000, 19,500 and 20,000 euros, respectively. “After a recess, in which the unions that make up the social bank debated, they unanimously did not accept the proposal of the club representatives,” said AFE.

Thus, AFE indicated that the unions propose a duration of two years, this season and the next, for the agreement, with minimum wages of 20,000 and 25,000 euros, respectively. “Our association understands that next season the salary should not be less than 25,000 euros, as the footballers have transferred to the AFE women’s football department, both in visits to changing rooms and in different meetings,” he said.

“AFE wants to make it clear that, during this negotiation process, at all times it has worked with the objective of protecting all the jobs of the clubs in the category. A necessary and inexcusable exercise of responsibility as a union because we are concerned about all the clubs and not only those with more economic means”, he concluded.
