Santi Aldama defeats the leaders of the West and Willy Hernangómez takes advantage of his minutes

MADRID, 26 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish power forward Santi Aldama has enjoyed this morning the victory of the Memphis Grizzlies, second in the West, against the leaders of their conference, the Denver Nuggets (112-94), in an NBA day in which Willy Hernangómez has taken advantage of his minutes with the New Orleans Pelicans despite losing to the New York Knicks (128-106).

Those from Tennessee (36-23) ended the Nuggets’ four-consecutive winning streak supported by a great second quarter (38-22) and led by Ja Morant, their leading scorer with 23 points.

Aldama, who started from the bench, spent almost 23 minutes on the FedExForum track; the canary scored five points -2 of 6 field goals, including 1 of 5 triples-, grabbed rebounds, gave an assist and recovered two balls.

For their part, Willy Hernangómez’s Pelicans fell for the third consecutive day, this time against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, but even so they remain in ‘PlayIn’ places, tenth (30-31), in the Western Conference.

The center from Madrid made the most of his 11 minutes of participation, in which he had time to sign nine points -2 of 4 shots from the field, including a triple in one attempt, and 4 of 6 from the personal line-, collecting eight rebounds and steal three balls.

Finally, Juancho Hernangómez did not have minutes in the victory of the Toronto Raptors, ninth in the East (30-31), against the Detroit Pistons (91-95), bottom of the same conference. The Canadians thus add their fourth straight win.
