MADRID, 24 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish Formula 1 driver Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) highlighted the “reliability” of his car this Thursday on the second day of the official pre-season test for the 2023 World Cup at the Bahrain International Circuit, while acknowledging the “positive” of a test with which he hopes to “be ready” for the first race of the season.
“It has been another positive day. Reliability was again very good and we have been able to explore all the settings we set out to test. We continue to explore the limits of the car and find potential areas where we can maximize performance. The aim is to keep up the good work tomorrow and be ready for next week,” said the pilot in statements to his team.
The man from Madrid, who triumphed in the morning session, achieved a 1:32.486 with which he led the session until the lunch break, and with which he surpassed his best time on Thursday, confirming a small step forward for the Ferrari car. Sainz, who did 70 laps on the Sakhir track, was firm in the long runs, which were the predominant note of the session. Finally, his best time in the afternoon session placed him sixth.
