Decathlon joins institutions and companies in the Active Mobility Manifesto

The sports equipment design and distribution company Decathlon has collaborated to develop an Active Mobility Manifesto together with public and private institutions and organizations in the Active Mobility Manifesto, as part of its commitment to develop its activity in a sustainable manner to make the sport more accessible. sport and its benefits to the greatest number of people.

This manifesto, which will be presented this Wednesday, February 1 in Madrid, represents a shared vision of the present and future of active and healthy mobility. It will allow agents in the sector to better focus their lines of action and will serve as a tool to mobilize citizens and increase their awareness of the benefits of active mobility.

The ultimate goal is to move towards healthier, safer, more sustainable and resilient cities. Decathlon together with public entities such as the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, the Ministry of Health or the EMT of Madrid, together with various companies linked to the sector, have been part of the public-private collaboration process from which the manifesto was born .

Íñigo García, leader of Sustainable Development at Decathlon Spain, pointed out the importance of this collaboration to make visible the importance of active and healthy mobility and thus guide policies and lines of action.

“We have been working for many years to promote active mobility as a key tool to achieve more sustainable and healthy environments for sports lovers, so this manifesto represents another step in the development of our strategic sustainability plan,” he said.
