Jordi Ribera: “We are where we wanted to be, with good feelings”

MADRID, 23 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The national handball coach, Jordi Ribera, highlighted the “good feelings” with which the Spanish team reaches the quarterfinals of the World Cup, where they will face Norway or Germany, despite the defeat (26-28) this Sunday against France, a duel at a good level until the traffic jam in the last minutes.

“Not happy with the result, although we have put everything we had to win, since we were already classified, but the team has been very good for 45 minutes, both in attack and defense. We have scored three goals and we were very well and the figure of Gerard has appeared”, he said in statements provided by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM).

The ‘Hispanics’ coach valued the good game of his team despite the fact that France was better in the last minutes. “They have arrived perhaps a little fresher at the end but nothing to say about the team. The team has fought, it has been good, it has had criteria in attack, it has worked in defense and I think that we have arrived well at what is the completion of this phase,” he said.

“Now the two days we have left to travel, rest and prepare for the quarterfinals. Rotation is important as always. We have finished these two phases with good feelings, with the objective of reaching the quarterfinals fulfilled. We are where we wanted to be and now we have to recover Agustín and Iñaki who were having problems and think that whoever plays the team is always capable of competing and being in the game whoever the rival is”, he concluded.
