Barça loan Michel Caicedo to Coviran Granada until the end of the season

MADRID, 10 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Barça and Coviran Granada announced on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement for the loan of young shooting guard Michael Caicedo to the Andalusian side of the Endesa League until the end of this 2022-2023 season.

The 19-year-old Spaniard has played seven games in the domestic tournament with the Barça first team this season and another seven with Barça B with averages of 17.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 23.3 rating points per match.

Caicedo made his debut under Sarunas Jasikevicius at the age of 17, in October 2021, on the Basketball Manresa court and since then he has played a total of 21 games in the national championship, including his new team’s visit to the Palau against who signed three points. In addition, he was champion of Spain junior that year, being ‘MVP’, and was part of the fifth ideal of the Next Generation Tournament of the Euroleague 2021

“I think the transfer of Michael Caicedo is positive for both parties. Here he will have the opportunity to earn minutes on the court with his work and effort, and we gain a young player with energy, ambition, desire to grow and with a physical that will help us in the rotation. We are a team that we try to play collectively and we need players who give us minutes of help and rotation”, said the coach of Coviran Granada, Pablo Pin, about his new signing.
