The Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo became a new player for Al Nassr, a Saudi Arabian team, with a contract until 2025 and as a free agent after parting ways with Manchester United after strong statements in November.
The Saudi team announced the signing of “the best in the world” on their social networks, confirming the rumor that has already spread in recent days. The Portuguese, who will turn 38 in February, takes an important turn, an adventure that points to the final leg of his career.
Cristiano saw his second spell at United end early after harsh statements on television against the owners and manager Erik ten Hag. On November 22, the forward and the English club reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract and the player became a free agent.
In the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Cristiano had the bitter taste of the defeat in the quarterfinals against Morocco, also the beginning of the end as an international, in a World Cup in which he also had a secondary role. The Portuguese, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, scored 145 goals in 346 appearances for United, where he returned in 2021 after three years at Juventus and, before that, he spent 11 years at Real Madrid.
