Sevilla seeks to resurface in Vigo and Getafe, Mallorca, Cádiz and Almería live direct duels

MADRID, 29 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Sevilla will try to start their recovery in LaLiga Santander by visiting a Celta who is also in need and in one of the current direct duels for salvation this Friday in which Getafe and Mallorca will also face each other, and Cádiz and Almería in matches corresponding to the fifteenth day of the championship.

In Balaídos (7:15 p.m.) two teams will face each other that are not fulfilling expectations for their projects and that have already sought a change of course on the bench such as Celta and Sevilla, separated by one point and with the man from Seville in relegation places.

The first part of the season has not been beneficial for Celticos or Sevilla, who must improve quickly if they do not want to find themselves in trouble. One of the two will surely end the year in the ‘hot’ zone, although both can also fall there if they tie and Cádiz beats Almería.

Celta entrusted themselves to the Portuguese Carlos Carvalhal to get out of the bottom positions, but his arrival had no reaction with only one point out of six possible. His debut ended with a defeat at home against Osasuna and the Portuguese now hopes that the break has helped him adjust better to his team that needs the return of goals from Iago Aspas and greater solidity in his stadium where he has not been able to win in their last three crashes.

Jorge Sampaoli has been on the bench for longer, who took over from Julen Lopetegui, but who also failed to change the mood of a Sevilla unexpectedly flirting with relegation. The Argentine coach only added two victories in his ten games and now, although he has had time, he has suffered more from the World Cup exodus, he no longer has Isco Alarcón and suffers significant casualties.

Thus, the Sevilla coach will not have at his disposal the suspended Montiel, Nianzou and Rakitic, nor the injured Marcao, ‘Papu’ Gómez and Rekik, as well as a Dolberg whose departure also seems close. The call for Vigo is full of homegrown players and with the almost obligatory help of a Marcos Acuña to complete an eleven in accordance with the regulations.

For his part, Carvalhal does not have so many difficulties and his only casualty is that of a Denis Suárez who continues without counting. Aspas, a substitute on the last day in Vallecas, will return to lead an attack where Strand Larsen and Paciencia compete for the other place.

MALLORCA AND ALMERÍA SEEK TO GET AWAY FROM BELOW

In addition, this Friday there will also be two other direct duels for permanence between four teams, two in great need, Getafe and Cádiz, who will receive two more relieved ones such as Mallorca and Almería, respectively.

In the Coliseum the football activity will open (5:00 p.m.) with the confrontation between the ‘azulón’ team, fifteenth with 14 points, and the ‘vermilion’, eleventh with 19, and who reached the break with different dynamics.

Quique Sánchez Flores’ men only added one point in their last two games against direct rivals (Cádiz –0-0– and Almería –1-0–) and they have only achieved one win since last September 18, which that has prevented them from coming out from below despite designing a somewhat more ambitious project.

Things went better for Javier Aguirre’s men, more solid and they faced the ‘rest’ in good spirits and closer to the European places than to the relegation ones, getting ten of the last twelve points.

In a duel that appears very balanced with two teams that defend well, Mallorca will try to maintain their good streak at home against a Getafe who this year is having a hard time being reliable in front of their fans. Enes Unal and Vedat Muriqi will be the main weapons in attack for each of them.

Finally, at the Nuevo Mirandilla Stadium (7:15 pm) an Andalusian derby will be held between Cádiz, the penultimate place and who refuses to add at home, and UD Almería, who, on the contrary, suffer at home.

The Cádiz team hopes to close 2022 out of the relegation places and for this they need to win, and then the results can accompany them. At the moment, the first cost him a lot in the first leg with two victories, only one in his seven home games.

For his part, the man from Almería wants to move away from a direct rival and get closer to the 20-point range, for which he will have to radically change his performance away from the Power Horse Stadium. Along with Elche, he still not only knows what it is to win at home but has only scratched one point out of 21 possible.

Sergio González, coach of Cádiz, will have the casualties in defense of Momo, Víctor Chust and Juan Cala, and that of the suspended Iván Alejo, while Joan Francesc Ferrer, ‘Rubi’, will not be able to count on Rodrygo Eli, sent off for a double yellow in the last victory against Getafe, nor with the newcomer Luis Suárez.
