The Ukrainian Naumenko and the Dutch Schraffordt, winners of a Christmas Race with full Spanish in 420

The Ukrainian sailor Sofiia Naumenko, in the ILCA 6 Women’s class, and the Dutchman Hidde Schraffordt, in the ILCA 6 Men’s class, were proclaimed absolute winners of the 46th edition of the Christmas Race, which concluded this Thursday in the waters of the Bay of Palamós (Girona), while the Spanish sail excelled in the 420 class.

In this way, as reported by the organization of the event, Naumenko won the Manuel Albalat Trophy for the best Olympic class crew and Schraffordt the Girona Diputació Trofeu for the best absolute junior crew.

In the women’s ILCA 6, Sofiia Naumenko dominated from the start, but she could never relax due to the pressure exerted by Ascensión Roca de Togores (RCN Torrevieja) from Alicante, who finished second ahead of her compatriot Claudia Adan (CN Santa Pola). . In the men’s category, Hidde Schraffordt was the best in a class where the Catalan Giulio Zinino (CN Garraf) and the also Dutchman Max Frank completed the podium.

On the other hand, the best Spanish performance came in the 420 class with the victory of the current world and European runners-up, Balearic Marc Mesquida and Ramon Jaume (CN Arenal). Pol Mateu and Alejandro de Maqua (CN El Balís), who led the first two days, and Pau Llibre-Miralpeix and Alberto Marsans (CN El Balís), seconded them in the general.

The female winners were the world champions, María Perelló and Marta Cardona (CN Arenal), while in the other classes the victories went to the Dutch Hieke Schraffordt in ILCA 4 and the Swede Jonathan Llado in Europe, with the Spanish Àlex Martin and Daniel Cabré on the podium and with the Catalan Emma Cabré (CN El Masnou) as women’s champion.
