Unipublic and Carrefour renew this Thursday the sponsorship of the ‘La Roja’ jersey in Madrid

The news of the 2023 Women’s Tour will also be revealed at the event, which will be held in May

Unipublic and Carrefour will renew this Thursday (11:00 am) the sponsorship of ‘La Roja’, the leader’s jersey in the general classification of La Vuelta cyclist a España, in an event organized by Europa Press in Madrid, in which they will present also the news of the women’s edition of the national round.

Carrefour will thus continue as the main sponsor of La Vuelta, and of the overall leader’s jersey, La Roja, for the eleventh consecutive year, and whose last winner in 2022 was the Belgian Remco Evenepoel ahead of the Spanish Enric Mas and Juan Ayuso.

In addition, news of the women’s Tour of Spain will be reported, which in 2023 will be held in May instead of September, as announced by the International Association of Cycling Race Organizations (AIOCC), and will consist of 7 stages instead of the 5 of this year in which the Dutchman from the Movistar Team Annemiek van Vleuten won.

The event, which will be held at the Meeting Place Auditorium on Orense street in the capital of Spain, will be attended by the president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Franco; the executive director of Carrefour Spain, Alexandre de Palmas; and the director of La Vuelta, Javier Guillén.

There will also be ex-cyclist Óscar Pereiro, ambassador of La Vuelta; José Vicioso, president of the Madrid Cycling Federation; and former cyclist Fernando Escartín, technical director of La Vuelta, and the national road cycling team, Gema Pascual, among other authorities.

The Tour of Spain will unveil its official route on January 10 (7:30 p.m.) at the Palau de la Música Catalana. The round will take place from August 26 to September 17, and will start with a team time trial in Barcelona and conclude in Madrid.
