Taylor Swift, 4; Rosalía, 0: the sad night of ‘Despecha’ on MTV

The American singer-songwriter and producer appeared by surprise, posed and won at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA), which were delivered this Sunday, November 13, in the city of Düsseldorf (Germany). Taylor Swift won the awards in the categories of Best Artist, Best Pop Artist, Best Video and Best Long Video, for the song All Too Well. For its part, Rosalia left empty-handed, despite having five nominations. The Catalan was among the favorites, along with Swift, Nicki Minaj and Harry Styles to take the crown of EMA 2022, but ultimately did not win any prize. The best song, according to MTV, has been for Super Freaky Girl, by Nicky Minaj; and the British Harry Styles has won the award for Best Direct.

The Best Latin distinction went to Annita, while David Guetta won Best Electronica, who also won the award for Best Collaboration for his duet with Bebe Rexha in I’m good (blue). Best K-Pop has gone to Lisa; Best Hip Hop for Nicky Minaj; the Best Rock is from Musa; in Best Alternative, the band Gorillaz won; and in Best R&B, Chlöe. The Catalan Bad Gyal wins the pulse of Rosalía

The Catalan singer Bad Gyal (below) has won the MTV Europe Music Award (EMA) for the best Spanish artist after beating other outstanding performers of the year 2022 in the popular vote. The author of songs such as I’ll take it o Fever competed in this category with Rosalía, Quevedo, Fito & Fitipaldis and Dani Fernández.




At 25 years old, Alba Farelo i Solé, better known by her stage name Bad Gyal, has stood out for her music in which she has fused genres such as reggaeton, the dancehall and the trap. In 2020 she also won the Latin Music Italian Awards for her song allocation with Omar Montes.
