De Paul: “Against Porto it’s like a final”

MADRID, 31 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Argentine soccer player of Atlético de Madrid Rodrigo de Paul affirmed that the last match of Group B of the Champions League group stage against Porto, which takes place this Tuesday at the Estadio Do Dragao, is “like a final” and He assured that the squad has “a lot of confidence” despite the latest results.

“We took time to process what happened. We are looking forward to this game, it is very important. The group has a lot of confidence and knows what we are capable of. On the side of confidence, the team is doing very well. It is extremely important, it is like a final”, he said at a press conference at the Estadio Do Dragao.

De Paul recalled that this Tuesday Atlético de Madrid has the chance to play in a European competition that has given him “a lot of joy”. “The best way to get to a World Cup is by competing. There are things that training sessions and the gym don’t give you, and in these four games you have to compete one hundred percent”, he stressed.

The Argentine player compared this situation with the one they experienced last year. “We experienced something similar last year. Porto is a great team and it will surely be a nice game because we both need to win. There are always things to improve in all aspects, but it will surely be a great year for us,” he assured.

In his opinion, Atlético have lacked a “pinch of luck”. “Football is measured by results. Many nights the last minutes have helped us win, but not this time. We feel good, but we have to show it on the field,” he wished.
