MADRID, 8 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Nearly 10,000 people will participate this Sunday in the Retiro Park in Madrid in the tenth edition of the solidarity race ‘Run for the child’, an event that has the support of Banco Santander and its ambassador Martín Fiz and that returns after two years stop with distances of 2, 5 and 10 kilometers.

‘Run for the Child’, promoted and promoted by Dr. Juan Casado, head of Intensive Care Services at the Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid, has since its creation become an event that brings together babies and children, adolescents, adults, the elderly and professional runners.

In total, 10,000 people are expected to participate, led by the world champion and Sports Santander ambassador, Martín Fiz, as well as personalities such as former cyclist Perico Delgado and Carolina Herrera.

At the gates of the hospital itself, on Calle Menéndez Pelayo, the start and finish line of a 10-kilometre route that will run entirely along Calle del Príncipe de Vergara will be located. The first half will go up to the Plaza de República Dominicana, and the second, down the other side of the street. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m.

The proceeds of the race will go entirely to the Research Foundation of the Niño Jesús Hospital itself. Banco Santander will donate, for its part, 22,500 euros to the institution with which it collaborates closely.
