The Spanish women’s team will wear the same shirt design as the men’s team

MADRID, 6 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s team announced this Thursday that it will wear the same shirt design as the men’s national team in its next friendly matches, according to a statement from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

With the iconic color red as the dominant color, adidas presented a “unique” shirt for the team led by Jorge Vilda, with a “timeless” design and with clear color references to the flag through the collar, in addition to some piping that surrounds the silhouette of it.

For the first time, the brand uses the same design for both the men’s and women’s teams, but with the silhouette adapted to each corresponding physiognomy. “The objective that is being pursued is that the country turns in the same way with each other in the decisive upcoming international events,” the statement said.

“When we design national team kits for tournaments as important as the FIFA World Cup, we always keep in mind that these designs will go down in legendary football history,” said Jürgen Rank, Director of Football Design at adidas. .

From the brand they insisted on the importance of “creating” kits for some of the best soccer players in the world. “The garments should help them reach their highest level of play while offering unique and unforgettably iconic designs that are bold, eye-catching and create a real sense of excitement among all fans,” added Rank.

The Spanish women’s team will debut its new skin this Thursday, October 7, at the El Arcángel Municipal Stadium in Córdoba. They will face Sweden (8:30 p.m.), the first friendly in their preparation for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, amid the controversy surrounding the national team after the resignation of 15 players until “the situation is not reversed” with coach Jorge Vilda.
