Nerea Eizagirre: “The team is strong and well, we’ll have our chances against Bayern”

MADRID, 19 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Sociedad midfielder Nerea Eizagirre pointed out that the team is “strong and well” to receive the German Bayern Munich on Tuesday at the Reale Arena in the first leg of the ‘playoff’ for access to the group stage of the Women’s Champions League and was optimistic about his options.

“What has changed since the draw is that we are more prepared to play. The team is strong and well, we have many options to win it and if we do things well, we will have our chances and we will get a good result for the second leg”, Eizagirre pointed out this Monday at a press conference.

The captain assured that she is not “a person who is usually nervous before matches”, although she did not hide that the debut in the Champions League is “a moment” that she wanted to “live”. “And that’s why I’m here at Real. I have full confidence in the team and I hope all the fans come to cheer us on because I think things are going to turn out well,” she stressed.

“I think the team is also calm and that we’re going to do something nice with what we’ve worked on today. I hope we enjoy ourselves, but it won’t be punctual because I think we have a team to have these experiences year after year,” added Eizagirre.

The Guipuzcoan recalled that they already played at the Reale Arena last year and had “positive results”. “We are a team that likes to play in front of a lot of people and under pressure. These are situations that we have to live with, I would like to play here every weekend”, she confessed.

“We are two teams that we really like to propose and want the ball. At the back we have to be strong and when we have to suffer, we all suffer together; and at the top I think we are going to have options because this team is not lacking in goals and I don’t think the result is going to be 0-0. I don’t think that hope and desire are going to beat us either,” the captain said.
