“Dear Mama, Mother, Your Majesty, three in one. Your Majesty, it has been an honor and a privilege to serve you. Mother of the Country, your devotion and personal service to our country is unique and singular; your people show their love and respect in many different ways and I know you are looking to honor their respect,” the Duke of York wrote.

“Mom, I will always treasure your love for a son, your compassion, your care, your trust. I have found your infinite knowledge and wisdom, without limit or restraint,” he acknowledges.

“I will miss your insights, advice, and humor. As our book of experiences closes, another opens, and I will always hold you close to my heart with my deepest love and gratitude, and gladly walk into the next one, with you as my guide”, he adds to finish with a “God Save The King”, in honor of his brother, King Carlos III.

The ‘rehabilitation’ of Andrés

The death of Elizabeth II marked the public family reunion of Prince Andrew, who for months had remained in the darkest ostracism for his connection to the sex trafficking network of his friend the tycoon Jeffrey Epstein.

It was the Queen who ‘rehabilitated’ her son last March, at the funeral in memory of the Duke of Edinburgh. Isabel II was walking arm in arm in a scene that also aroused a huge discrepancy within the Windsors, since Andrés, with that gesture, replaced Carlos, who due to his status as heir should have assumed that leading role.

The last outstanding image of the Duke of York occurred last Friday, when he starred with his brothers, the one known as Vigil of the Princes. Exceptionally, Prince Andrew was allowed to wear the military uniform, like the rest of his brothers, by special permission from the king, since Andrew cannot wear this type of uniform since he was stripped of all his military honors.
