Penélope Cruz receives, between tears, the National Cinematography Award: “Thank you dad and mom for your effort”

Penelope Cruz has been awarded the prestigious National Cinematography Award this Saturday, September 17, within the framework of the San Sebastián Film Festival, by the hands of Miquel IcetaMinister of Culture.

In an emotional speech, the actress from Madrid highlighted the “effort” that her parents had to make so that she could get to the place where she is, and emphasized that her father would have very much liked to see her collect this award.




“Thank you, dad, wherever you are, that you would have enjoyed this moment a lot; and thank you mom”, “dedication with your children continues to be a reference model for me today to understand life”, said the wife of Javier Bardem.

For the occasion, Penelope has once again opted for her favorite brand, Chanel, with a pink two-piece outfit: a mini skirt and a top with 3/4 sleeves. She enhanced her look by adding a pale pink bag and, as a contrast, black platform sandals.




This award recognizes one of the most spectacular cinematographic curricula in Spain, and which happens for having obtained four Oscar nominations, one of them, converted into an American Academy Award for Vicky, Cristina Barcelonain addition to a French César de Honor and three Goyas out of 13 nominations.

The actress has said excitedly that a third of the economic endowment of the award will go to the platform Affected by the Mortgage, one of the topics addressed by the film On the Marginswhich stars, another third to the Cancer Unit of the Hospital de la Paz and the other part will be donated to the Welfare Fund created by Pilar Bardem “which seeks to provide protection to a colleague who is experiencing difficulties.”
