From his office at Buckingham Palace and dressed in rigorous black, the new king addressed the entire British nation for the first time. His first words have been to extol the figure of his mother, the Queen isabel IIwho passed away this Thursday September 8th at Balmoral: “Throughout her life, Her Majesty the Queen, my beloved mother, was an inspiration and example to me and my entire family, and we owe her the sincerest debt of any family can have with his mother. He fearlessly embraced the progress of his nation. Respect and a sense of duty were the framework of his reign. He combined his qualities with good humor and the ability to always see the best in people.”

“His death brings a lot of sadness to many people and I share it with all of you,” he said ruefully. Charles III. “When the queen arrived, the world was dealing with the consequences of the Second World War and in her 70 years of reign we have seen many things. The State has changed, but she impeccably managed all the changes and challenges of our nation, and I am very proud of that. Its values must remain forever. The values of the monarchy must also remain forever. My faith in the British Church remains intact as well.”

The monarch has highlighted: “Queen Elizabeth had a life well lived; a promise with destiny fulfilled and that promise of lifelong service I renew to all of you today. I have been educated to work for others. Just as the queen did I will abide by the principles of our nation’s constitution.” And he has made a promise to his subjects: “As the Queen herself did with such unwavering devotion, I also solemnly pledge myself, for the remaining time that God grants me, to uphold constitutional principles at the heart of our nation.”
In addition, the new king has taken the opportunity to name his son Guillermo Already Kate Middleton the new ones princes of wales, a title that he himself held until yesterday and that is not hereditary per se but is a privilege that the sovereign must grant to the recipient. Carlos III has also wanted to name his son Harry y Meghan Markleassuring his deep love for them although “they will continue to build their lives abroad”.

Declaration of love to Camilla
The king has not forgotten his wife and new queen consort, Camilla Parker Bowlesin this first speech: “This is also a time of change for my family. I count on the loving assistance of my dear wife, Camilla. In recognition of her loyal public service since our marriage 17 years ago, she becomes my queen consort I know he will bring to the demands of his new role the steadfast devotion to duty that I have come to rely on so much.”
