Serbia-Italy, Greece-Czech Republic, Ukraine-Poland and Croatia-Finland, in the second round of the Eurobasket

MADRID, 8 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Eurobasket 2022 completed this Thursday the other eight teams that will play the final phase in Berlin, with two of the favorites, Serbia and Greece as the only two undefeated and with two round of 16 matches of different depth.

Both the Serbs, current runners-up, and the Greeks have not had too much trouble topping Groups D and C respectively. Serbia closed its first phase with a resounding 96-69 victory against Poland and will now surely have its biggest test against an irregular, but always dangerous Italy that clearly won 90-56 over Great Britain on the last day with a quarter final from 23-2.

For his part, Giannis Antetokounmpo, with 25 points in 19 minutes, once again led Greece in its fifth victory against Estonia by 90-69, and on the way to the quarterfinals he will have the Czech Republic, who won 88-77, supported by his public, his ‘end’ against Israel.

The other two eighth-finals are completed with duels between Croatia, whose victory against Ukraine by 90-85 served to avoid Serbia, and Finland, who did not fail against the Netherlands (88-67), and between the Ukrainian and Polish team.
