Charles of England is already King Charles III and his son William inherits the Duchy of Cornwall

The sense communicated by Charles of England to publicly fire his mother has cleared up one of the great unknowns: the name with which he will reign. That is the name with which he signs his first statement as king, that of the death of his mother, and with which he will go down in history. But his title is not the only one that has changed at the same moment of the sovereign’s death: the Duchy of Cornwall, hitherto owned by Charles and Camilla, has passed to William of England y Kate Middletonwho have already officially announced it on their social networks.

Both titles automatically pass to the corresponding heir, but not the title of Prince of Wales, which also corresponds to William but is granted exclusively by the sovereign. We’ll have to wait for his grandmother’s funeral and his father’s coronation to take place before Prince Harry’s brother and his wife officially become the Prince and Princess of Wales, a tradition started by King Edward I of England in 1301. They will receive, together with the principality, the chester county.
