Ceferin: “I’m sure the 2030 World Cup will be played in Spain and Portugal”

MADRID, 5 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of UEFA, Aleksander Ceferin, was convinced this Monday that Spain and Portugal will host the 2030 World Cup at the opening of the ‘Football Talks’ international congress, organized by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and which is being held in the Cidade do Futebol, near Lisbon.

“I am sure that the 2030 World Cup will be played in Spain and Portugal, two countries that feel football. It is a winning bet and we will do everything possible to help these countries that are passionate about football, that live and breathe football and that have a good infrastructure,” the UEFA president said by videoconference.

Spain and Portugal share the candidacy for the 2030 World Cup and there are already 15 Spanish venues interested in hosting the championship matches. According to the established calendar, in November the evaluation of the same will be carried out and the eleven Spanish stadiums chosen will be known. Portugal would have three venues.
