Villarreal came out lucky in this Friday’s draw for the group stage of the Conference League, where they will have to face Israeli Hapoel Beer-Sheva, Austrian Austrian Vienna and Polish Lech Poznan, teams theoretically much inferior to the Spanish team.
Unai Emery’s team, the first Spanish team to play in the entire history of this competition, have been lucky to avoid the great teams from pot 2, the German Cologne and the Italian Fiorentina, and the French Nice, who started from the third group of Equipements.
The ceramic team will face the champion of the last Polish league, Lech Poznan, the runner-up of the Israeli league, Hapoel Beer-Sheva, and the third-placed team in the last Austrian Bundesliga, Austria Vienna.
