FUTPRO and Futbolistas ON criticize staying “out” of the negotiation with LPFF and RFEF

MADRID, 9 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The unions FUTPRO and Futbolistas ON have criticized this Tuesday for having been “out” of the negotiation to determine the number of non-EU players who will be able to participate in official women’s tests or competitions for the next season.

Both unions consider that the Professional Women’s Football League (LPFF) has called a meeting that “was not within the established legal framework, since the parties involved in that meeting were not the three specified in the Royal Decree,” highlights FUTPRO, who already warned of this situation on July 22.

“FUTPRO made the decision unilaterally not to attend the meeting until it adhered to the current legislation and this was indicated to the LPFF in writing. By not obtaining a response from them, from FUTPRO we were forced not to attend and wait for the resolution of the Higher Sports Council,” he adds in a statement.

In addition, FUTPRO recalled that it remains “immediately available to meet with the other two parties involved, RFEF and LPFF, and thus reach an agreement as soon as possible” with the aim of clarifying how many non-EU players will be able to take part in official competitions.

Similarly, Futbolistas ON stressed this Tuesday that “there is no ‘majority professional athletes’ association’. “In defense of the rights of our affiliates and in particular of the soccer players who voted for us in the union elections held last December , we must remind the CSD that there is no ‘majority association of professional athletes'”, he exposes.

“That is why we neither understand nor share that, like the rest of the unions, we are left out of the negotiation with the LPFF and the RFEF on the number of non-EU foreign players authorized for this first season of the new professional competition” , sentenced Footballers ON.
